What To Expect When You Visit
We are excited that you have decided to join us for worship! Here are a few answers to some common questions about our church.
Eastside Community Baptist Church is a church that is steeped in over 200 years of ministry. The quality that we value the most is relationship. We want to live out the greatest commandment:
As God’s children we are family. We grow together, laughing, crying, worshipping, praying, and serving together.
The Congregation
On average we have between 50-65 people attend. We come from all age groups and from diverse backgrounds.
On Sundays
Our Sunday worship service is at 10:30 AM and runs about an hour and 15 minutes. Our service includes a blended style of worship where we enjoy age-old hymns of the faith and new expressions of worship through choruses and gospel songs. On any given Sunday you might hear piano, guitars, percussion, and even the accordion. After the service we have a time of meeting and greeting one another over a cup of coffee and usually a sweet treat of some sort.
Our Messages
We believe in the truth that the Bible has for us. The messages from the pastor could be in the form of a series, on a specific theme, or teaching about a particular book of the Bible. We strive to be true to what God has given us in scripture and look for God’s meaning not ours.
Tithes & Offerings
Each week, we take up an offering to allow God’s people to participate in the ongoing ministry of the church. If you are visiting, you should feel no obligation to give.
What should you wear?
We do not expect you to dress in any particular style. We are just glad you are here! You will find everything from casual to suit and tie.
Accessibility and other needs
If you have mobility issues, the church has a lift at your disposal that will take you to all levels of the facility. Hearing impaired? We have a wireless F.M. headphone system that you can pick up from the sound booth at the back of the sanctuary. If you need assistance please let someone know. We also have accessible restrooms on the sanctuary and fellowship hall levels. We have reserved a spot near the door of the church for loading and unloading of passengers and we have designated handicapped parking areas in our parking lot.
